چکیده
Aims. We report observations of a unique, large prominence eruption that was observed in the He II 304 Å passband Extreme Ultraviolet Imager/Full Sun Imager telescope aboard Solar Orbiter on 15–16 February 2022. Methods. Observations from several vantage points – Orbiter, Solar-Terrestrial Relations Observatory, and Heliospheric Earth-orbiting satellites were used to measure kinematics erupting associated coronal mass ejection. Three-dimensional reconstruction calculate deprojected positions speeds different parts prominence. passbands allowed us analyse radiative properties Results. The leading edge corresponding ejection propagate at around 1700 km s −1 2200 , respectively, while trailing are significantly slower (around 500 ). Parts tracked up heights over 6 R ⊙ . emission is probably produced via collisional excitation rather than scattering. Surprisingly, brightness feature increases with height. Conclusions. reported first such great height (above

Polar surges and macrospicules : simultaneous H α and He II 304 Å observations
We compare simultaneous sequences of Hα and He ii 304Å images near the solar limb. We propose to distinguish polar surges and giant spicules (macrospicules), among the He ii structures observed beyond the solar limb. Polar surges have a complex structure when observed in Hα and an erup-tive nature, reminiscent of normal surges in small scale. Giant spicules are simple spikes, very narrow compar...
متن کاملSpicule emission profiles observed in He 10830 Å
Aims. Off-the-limb observations with high spatial and spectral resolution will help us understand the physical properties of spicules in the solar chromosphere. Methods. Spectropolarimetric observations of spicules in the He 10830 Å multiplet were obtained with the Tenerife Infrared Polarimeter on the German Vacuum Tower Telescope at the Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife, Spain). The analysis ...
متن کاملEUV lines observed with EIS/Hinode in a solar prominence
Context. During a multi-wavelength observation campaign with Hinode and ground-based instruments, a solar prominence was observed for three consecutive days as it crossed the western limb of the Sun in April 2007. Aims. We report on observations obtained on 26 April 2007 using EIS (Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer) on Hinode. They are analysed to provide a qualitative diagnostic of the ...
متن کاملThe Data Processing Electronics of the METIS Coronagraph aboard the ESA Solar Orbiter Mission
METIS is the Multi Element Telescope for Imaging and Spectroscopy, a Coronagraph aboard the European Space Agency’s Solar Orbiter Mission aimed at the observation of the solar corona via both VIS and UV/EUV narrow-band imaging and spectroscopy. METIS, with its multi-wavelength capabilities, will study in detail the physical processes responsible for the corona heating and the origin and propert...
متن کاملA White-light Prominence observed by TRACE
A “white-light prominence” is a flare visible in the continuum above the solar limb. Few examples of this phenomenon have been reported, but the tremendous event of 2003 November 4 was detected by several instruments. This was a partially occulted flare. We report here a detailed study of a much weaker event, seen in this case from a flare whose chromospheric component was on the disk. We find....
